Before you can adjust slack into the clutch cable you have to first roll back the jam nut that holds it in place.

Back it off completely so that the adjuster spins freely then adjust til light pressure and back off 3 4 turn.
Because if your clutch is not fully engaged it s going to slip and if it slips it s going to wear out faster and keep your bike from transferring its full power to the wheel.

Me i would collapse the cable and run the adjuster in til it seats and give it a couple of turns in to seperate the clutch plates.

I cannot adjust all of the slack out of the clutch cable there is still approx 1 2 inch left at the clutch lever so i adjust the allen screw at the clutch pack in until the rest of the slack comes out at the clutch lever but then clutch lever will not pull in.
Be sure to take the clutch cable adjuster all the way to the point that it bottoms out thus releasing all tension on the clutch cable.
